The Salomon Chicago store marks the French performance brands’ second store in the USA bringing tech heavy trail trainers to the Windy City.
Previously owned by adidas & now under the brand umbrella of Amer Sports, which also includes Arc’teryx, it would be fair to say that Salomon has become a bit of a mainstay on the outdoors performance trainer world in recent years. Tech heavy trail runners have become a key part of the new found love for “going outdoors”. Covid lockdowns created a desire to get into the countryside as city slickers looked to ditch the grime & crime of the metropolis for the hills & trails of the countryside. With that came a new hybrid style which merged the traditional urban attire with performance gear and trail ready garb.
Salomon have been flying the tech heavy trail trainer flag for some time now with a lineage of celebrated XT silhouettes such as the XT-4 & the XT-6 GORE-TEX that pack more innovation than your average shoe. For August 2025 the French performance brand now arrives in the Windy City for the launch of their latest Chicago store which is located in the Bucktown neighbourhood.
Opening as part of Salomon’s ongoing expansion into the USA, the store is located at 1630 N Damen Avenue, and marks the French brand’s second bricks ‘n’ mortar store to open in the US. Bringing some of the best performance apparel & tech heavy trail runners currently on the market to Chicago, the Salomon Bucktown store will also serve as a hub for community runs with pop-up coffee bars and event spaces.
