We could regurgitate some generic copycat copy about HI-TEC but personal experiences, or storytelling which seems to be the buzz word of the day, will always be the KULT way.
If you asked me to personally to sum up HI-TEC it would be something like a British born underdog that was worn by the “probably taking it too serious” types on squash court leisure centres of the 1980s & 1990s. Dads wore them with jeans on a Saturday morning on a trip to the local boookies (in a Jack Duckworth voice) because they were proper comfy regardless if they looked battered or not. Performance wise they were top tier, doing exactly what they said on the tin, but they were never considered cool.
As much as HI-TEC might have been seen, and appreciated, screeching about the wooden floors of local leisure centres, you certainly weren’t wearing them over your Reebok Classics or your Nike Air Max Triax. That has all changed in recent years though, as HI-TEC have started making moves into the more “lifestyle” arena. Capturing all the nostalgia from their 80s & 90s performance archives from tennis to running, the HI-TEC HTS74 range is a premium line of footwear which was launched back in 2017. 2025 now marks their very first apparel collection and we’re big fans.
Drawing inspiration from HI-TEC’s Adventure Racing Series which was first introduced in 1996, the premium apparel line features a range of athletic garments as well as archive running silhouettes. Highlights include hooded sweatshirts, joggers, shorts, tees & caps sporting the classic HI-TEC logo which are designed for all day comfort & everyday wear. The range will also include classic HI-TEC silhouettes like the Shadow in some new seasonal colourways for a premium spin on the archives.
